Looking for a technician to lead the planned work maintenance on the weekends (Friday to Monday - 10 hour shifts) to lead improvements and planned work for our team and ensure smooth operations! - We are flexible to variation of hours for the right candidate but must be able to work on weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Lead the weekend shift maintenance team, both in Mechanical and Electrical domains. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the execution of necessary corrective and preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring they're carried out according to plan to enhance reliability across our plant.
  • Team Management: Manage the team on duty, ensuring activities are conducted safely and in compliance with OH&S regulations. You'll be the point person for coordinating tasks and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Site Maintenance Leadership team to identify improvement opportunities. Facilitate the transfer of information and works required with other maintenance shifts to ensure seamless operations.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Attend to repairs and breakdowns of production machinery promptly, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. You'll work closely with the site planner to schedule jobs, ensuring they're properly planned with the correct parts and resources.
  • Future Planning: Scope out works and repairs for future weeks, contributing to long-term maintenance planning and optimization efforts.
  • Program Development: Assist in developing and introducing maintenance programs to support all internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards.
  • Safety and Quality Assurance: Ensure the execution of safety standards and quality assurance practices into all repairs and maintenance activities. Identify and escalate any Animal Welfare, Food Safety & Quality issues, hazards, and risks promptly.

What we need from you:

  • Trade Certificate: You must have a Trade Certificate in either Electrical or Mechanical, with a working understanding of the alternative field required.
  • Hands-On Approach: Although this role involves managing the weekend activities of the maintenance team, you'll also be required to participate and be hands-on when necessary.
  • Technical Skills: Good computer skills and ability to work with a CMMS (Maximo would be an advantage). Experience with PLC programming and fault-finding highly regarded.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships, communicate effectively, and collaborate with key stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: A positive attitude with a continuous improvement mindset, always striving to identify and introduce improvements in maintenance practices and plant performance.
  • Self-Driven: Self-driven and motivated with sound technical engineering skills, capable of practically implementing theoretical initiatives and ideas.
  • Attention to Detail: Proven skills in attention to detail, information processing, and problem-solving, with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Previous Experience: Past experience managing a maintenance team and familiarity with industrial equipment, particularly in a continuous production environment, would be highly advantageous.
