At Ingham’s, we believe in developing sustainable poultry production methods and as such, we take our role as industry leaders seriously. Our focus is on carrying out our business in a responsible and ethical manner, and this principle is echoed in our company values.
Not only do we expect it of ourselves – we also know that our customers and the community expect that we are a good corporate citizen and act responsibly.
We need to ensure that we respect the environment in which we operate, and minimise our impact upon natural resources – to work towards greater sustainability.
Ingham’s is committed to protecting the environment through the promotion and adoption of regular improvements to operating processes that reduce our impact on the environment. Compliance is an important aspect of this and our environmental management system is key to ensuring that we are compliant to regulatory requirements at all times.
Every Ingham’s site has a site-specific Environmental Management Plan, a dedicated team looking after the Sustainability Action Plans with its own targets, and a Sustainability Report that monitors water, energy and waste, as well as its costs and GHG emissions. Each year we review the Plan, summarise how we have performed, what was successful and what needed improvement. Doing this at a site level makes it relevant and meaningful for each site.
